Plotting a PNG file for web publication
-
Make a rectangular border around the area you choose to plot. If a border is not actually desired in the finished product, the border can be placed on its own border layer, which can be turned off.
-
Define a named view (you can do this with the VIEW command, using the window option) around your border.
- We're assuming here that 800 pixels is our maximum acceptable width, and the closest preset plotsize is 789x610; that is what we will use. I will also assume that we are plotting in landscape and that the aspect ratio is very close to 789x610.
- If you are in architectural units, change back to decimal (see units).
- Measure the width of the border rectangle in your drawing.
- Number of drawing units per pixel=width/789pixels
- If this cuts off your border (in the preview) increase the drawing units number slightly
- Here are what these settings might look like in the plot window, with the relevant settings circled
