Loading third-party applications into AutoCad

Perhaps the simplest way to load a lisp routine, say, mystuff.lsp into AutoCad is to use the APPLOAD command.
Type APPLOAD at the command line, and a dialog box comes up which has a browser in the top half, and a load button.
If you find that you want to load an external program in every autocad drawing session, explorer the startup suite Contents button
